Shade Structures in Schools

Posted by Ray Agostinelli at 2007-02-20 17:14

The goGroup working on shade structures is trying to gather information about the most effective structures for schools, both architecturally and in terms of the designs most likely to be approved by school planning boards. I would like to open this question up to the broader dermAdvocate community here to see if others have ideas or opinions on the matter.

You should check out the work being done at architectAdvocate, Ray. There is a thread there dealing with school boards. In particular, the architects who have worked closely with the zoning guys recommend that advocacy efforts focus on landscaping and orientation rather than on significant new construction.
