Personal information

We value and protect personal information.  No information that you provide will be shared with a third party.  To maintain credibility, authors must always identify themselves.

goAdvocate asks for personal information when you register, including your real name, email address and a password.  This is used to confirm your account and protect it from unauthorized access.  Registrants using fake names or emails will be deleted.  Your email or password will never be shared with a third party.

Your profile page may contain personal information, such as your name, a photo, your location, etc.  Most information may be kept blank at the member’s discretion.

goAdvocate servers automatically record information, such as the frequency and size of data transfers.  None of this personally identifies you.  Information displayed or clicked in the goAdvocate interface (including User Interface elements, settings, and other information) is also recorded.

Uses

goAdvocate stores and maintains user account information and copies of user weblog posts and comments, including drafts, in order to provide service.

Your choices

Members can change their goAdvocate account settings in the Account Settings area.  Members can edit their profile information at Edit Profile, and specify what information is private and public, within some limits.  Some  identifying information (such as member name) remains public.  Members can edit, save drafts and remove posts at any time, as described in goAdvocate help.  Additionally, members can delete their entire profile.

If you delete your profile, all posts will be removed from public view.  However, residual copies of your profile information and other information associated with your account may remain on back-up media.
