Eponyms and syndromes

A searchable, alphabetical list of dermatologic eponyms and syndromes.  Click here

An eponym is a thing (in this case, a disease or condition) named after a person.  Eponyms usually give no clue to the character of the disease since they derive not from the clinical findings, but often from the first person who described it.  Thus, descriptive names are encouraged and eponyms are becoming increasingly historic.
